  • Restaurant inspection results are kept by the city or county health department; many publish them online or post the latest grade at the door.
  • For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

Eh. Nice ambience, but meh noodz. The Tonkotsu Ramen lacked any real umami. The Spicy Miso Ramen was a bit better, but didn't have that rich depth that miso-based meat broths should have. Frankly, the best thing we had was non-ramen: both the Tsukune (chicken meatball) and Momo (chicken thigh) skewers were juicy and packed with flavor. But the only sticks I like with my ramen are chopsticks.

I had an amazing experience at Shokudo Hoboken. The Salmon Miso was absolutely incredible — perfectly grilled with a beautiful smoky flavor and a rich, savory miso glaze that melted into every bite paired with fluffy rice, fresh salad. The outdoor seating made the experience even better, with such a relaxing atmosphere and a beautiful city view while dining.THE services perfect VERY FRIENDLY.

Very quiet and comfortable ramen 🍜 shop at edge if Hoboken. Was large portions and reasonable prices. Looks like many locals come here. Parking 🅿️ can be tricky depending on day and time. But it's comfy they have Japanese cooking shows playing on the TVs and staff was friendly. It's long restaurant the food came out fairly quickly too

We always sit outside with our dog. The outside tables could be improved for stability. But the food and drinks here keep us coming back. We love the skewers for a late night snack and drink. Then we also tried the ramen and udon. Wow. For a small place in Hoboken… not bad at all! The udon broth is better than most places in Chicago. And I tried a bite of my hubby’s spicy ramen. It was so good. I can’t eat spicy food but it was tolerable for me. Don’t be fooled if you don’t see Asians eating here. It’s because it’s Hoboken.

Not salty, even late at night! Most Japanese ramen broths are too salty and leave you thirsty for hours, but this one isn’t. Honestly, it’s the best Japanese ramen I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many famous ramen spots in Little Tokyo, LA, and I’m a true food hunter. The kimchi here is the real deal—not a fake version. I’m Korean, so I know what authentic kimchi is. The kimchi ramen is amazing too. My only problem is that I’m gaining weight because I finish every last drop! :)
